Both Avalon and Stone Harbor offer a variety of fine dining restaurants, street-side takeouts and eateries, seafood and farm-fresh produce markets. There’s also a liquor store on either side of the island featuring global and local selections for wine, beer and spirits – so you can pick something up on your way to that BYOB.

Cuisine options are as diverse as our local celebrity chefs – with influences spanning from Italy and the Mediterranean to Argentina and South America, the Caribbean islands, France, Japan and other parts of Asia.

You’ll first notice a number of places to eat or drink in Avalon’s business district along Dune Drive, between 32nd and 21st Streets – as well as on 96th Street in Stone Harbor. But there’s much more to explore outside these main hubs.

Venture toward the ocean in Avalon at First Avenue and 7th Street for fine dining – or onto neighboring side streets and along bayside bridges to find more bakeries and pastry shops, family-friendly seafood and takeout, sushi venues, a brew pub and a rooftop tiki bar.

A little stroll around Stone Harbor’s alleys and side streets off 96th Street can lead you to discover more bakeries, pastry shops, cafés and food courts – even a sushi bar. Further down the road on Third Avenue, you’ll find a few tucked-away eateries catering to quick-bites, takeout and family-friendly casual dining.
