Pollinator Garden Lecture: Tour of the Avalon Pollinator Meadow
- Free
About
Join Pat Sutton on a special tour of the Avalon Pollinator Meadow that showcases keystone native perennials that are thriving on this barrier island, and the pollinators they’ve attracted and benefit.
Don’t forget to bring your binoculars if you want to see the pollinators that Pat will spot and point out!
Species in-season include: Wild Bergamot, Rattlesnake Master, and Joe-pye-weed.
Additionally, with the large patches of various milkweeds in the garden, summer Monarchs should be present and busy mating and laying their eggs to create additional generations.
Pat Sutton is a local expert, educator, and author on pollinator gardens, insects, butterflies, birds, and more.
Tour is conducted at the Avalon Pollinator Garden in Armacost Park (71st Street and Ocean Drive). Event is being held in collaboration with the Avalon Environmental Commission.
