Irish Weekend in North Wildwood is the largest Irish Festival on the East Coast celebrating Irish heritage!

Enjoy dancing, music, food and craft vendors and participating pubs along Olde New Jersey Avenue in North Wildwood at this 4-day festival event that draws impressive crowds down the shore in the fall each year.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Thursday, September 19

• 8 am: AOH Irish Open Golf Tournament at Cape May National Golf Course; $130 – $140 registration fee

• 5:30 pm: Live Boxing Match – USA vs Ireland at Wildwood Catholic Academy; $30 – $50 admission fee

Friday, September 20

8 am – 7 pm: Vendors along Olde New Jersey Avenue

11:45 am: Opening Ceremony, with singing of the National and Irish Anthems

12 noon – 8:30 pm: FREE Live Entertainment on stage

Saturday, September 21

8 am: The Irish Jog: a 5K Run and 1-Mile Walk – race-day registration at the AOH tent on Olde New Jersey Avenue (between 1st & 2nd Avenues); $30 registration fee

8 am – 7 pm: Vendors along Olde New Jersey Avenue

10 am: Brian Riley Pipe Exhibition at Bill Henfy Park (at 8th & Central Avenues)

10 am – 12 noon: FREE Irish Dance Lessons at the Knights of Columbus Hall (206 N. New York Avenue)

12 noon – 8:30 pm: FREE Live Entertainment on stage

Sunday, September 22

• 10:30 am: Catholic Mass at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church in the Notre Dame de la Mer Parish (Glenwood & Atlantic Avenues) – includes a procession from the main entrance to altar by the Protectors of the Faith Guards, the Cape May County Emerald Society Honor Guard, and a liturgical bag piper soloist

• 12:30 pm: Parade – starts at 20th & Surf Avenues, continues to Spruce and Olde New Jersey Avenues

8 am – 7 pm: Vendors along Olde New Jersey Avenue

SPECIAL FESTIVAL JITNEY SCHEDULE

Jitney service will be available in North Wildwood throughout the Festival Weekend, on the following days and times:

Friday & Saturday: from 10 am to closing

Sunday: from 12 noon to 8 pm

The Jitney loop begins from the festival area via 3rd Avenue, South on Surf Avenue to 26th Avenue, then returns North on Surf Avenue to 4th Avenue and back into the festival area in the North Wildwood’s Entertainment District. An alternate route will run along Atlantic Avenue during Sunday’s parade.

There is a $3 fare per person each way.

Event is sponsored by the Cape May County, James J. Reilly, Division 1, Ancient Order of Hibernians, an organization that fosters and preserves Irish culture and heritage. The AOH achieves significant charitable accomplishments thanks to this extremely successful annual fundraising event. The Festival is also sponsored in part by the Wildwood Tourism Improvement & Development Authority and the City of North Wildwood.
