About
On Good Friday, April 14th, 1865, our 16th President, Abraham Lincoln, was mortally wounded while attending the play “Our American Cousin” at Ford’s Theatre, as the American Civil War was drawing to a close.
Lincoln was the first American president to be assassinated, and his assassination was carried out by the well-known stage actor John Wilkes Booth. The pursuit, capture, trial, and execution of the conspirators brings this fateful event of 1865 to a close.
Join historical re-enactor, lecturer, and tour guide Michael Jesberger as we revisit the tragedy and sorrow of this fateful event in American history.
