Beachside Science at Surfside: “Just Passing Through” – Migration at the Avalon Coastline

Free

About

The Avalon coast sees an impressive migration spectacle every year, with thousands of animals stopping through.

From the small Monarch Butterfly to the Ospreys in the marsh, we’ll discuss the journeys of these animals as the seasons change. Discussion will be led by Erin Rawls, outreach coordinator for The Wetlands Institute in Stone Harbor.

Includes a live Monarch tagging demonstration (as available).

Event is being held in partnership with the Avalon Environmental Commission.

If inclement weather occurs, this event will be moved inside adjacent Avalon Community Hall.
