Rules and Requirements
Beach tags are required for any person 12 years and older using the beach between 10 am and 5 pm, from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Stone Harbor beach tags can be used for both Stone Harbor and Avalon beaches (reciprocal agreements).
Beach Tag Pricing & Sales
Beach tag pricing depends on the tag type (valid duration) and date of purchase. All beach tags purchased are non-refundable.
Seasonal beach tags are available for purchase this year starting as early as March.

Where to buy Pre-Season
You can purchase Stone Harbor beach tags at pre-season prices in one of the following ways:
1. in-person at Borough Hall
Stop into Borough Hall to purchase beach tags at pre-season prices.

Please note: In-person beach tag purchases will no longer be available at Borough Hall once the Beach Tag Office is open full-time. Please call the Borough (609-368-5102) to verify exact dates, days, hours, and purchase locations before stopping in.

2. in-person at the Beach Tag Office
You can also stop by the Beach Tag Office, which will be open at full-time hours, to purchase beach tags at pre-season prices.

You can also purchase Stone Harbor beach tags at pre-season prices through the mail. In order to receive the discounted pre-season price, purchase must be made before May 31.
How it Works:
• send your check, along with name, address and number of tags desired using this form, to the Borough (check made payable to “Borough of Stone Harbor”)
• actual tags will be held under your name at the Beach Tag Office for you to pick up

Where to buy In-Season
Beginning June 1, Stone Harbor beach tags may be purchased by any of the following methods:
1. at the Beach Tag Office

Online & Mobile App Sales

You can now purchase beach tags anytime online and have them delivered to your home.
The Borough of Stone Harbor has partnered with the Jersey Cape Diagnostic, Training, and Opportunity Center for this service.
Additional fees, including a convenience fee and shipping fee (based on selected shipping), will be added to beach tags purchased using this method.

Please note: Beach tags will not be available via the mobile app Viply, as Viply has ended all beach tag arrangements with municipalities as of September 2023.
There are currently no other mobile app vendors known to be selling beach tags at this time.
Veterans & Active Military
Free beach tags are offered by Stone Harbor to all veterans of the United States Military.
A veteran is defined as any individual who has served in any of the Armed Forces of the United States and was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable.
Free beach tags are also offered by Stone Harbor to active-duty members of the United States Armed Forces and their immediate family members.
Active-duty member refers to any individual who has served in any of the Armed Forces of the United States, and has either served at least 90 days in active duty or been discharged or released from active duty by reason of a service-incurred injury or disability.
WHERE:
Veterans and active-duty members will be issued specialized veteran tags (not the yearly generic beach tag).
Specialized tags for veterans or active-duty military members and their families will only be issued at the Beach Tag Office during normal business hours starting Memorial Day weekend. ID is required (see below).
Veterans will receive one specialized tag for themselves. Active-duty members will receive a specialized tag for themselves, their spouse and dependent children.
WHAT TO BRING:
Veterans and active-duty members must appear in-person and show appropriate documentation to receive complimentary beach access for the 2024 season in Stone Harbor.
Appropriate documentation includes a copy of DD-214 Form, or any of the following:
• Cape May County Veterans card, issued by the county
• Active/ Retired/ Reserved military identification card
• American Legion card
• VFW card
• Vietnam Veterans of America card
• Disabled Veterans of America card
• Marine Corps League card
