To purchase beach tags online: click here or visit jerseycapetags.com/avalonbeachtags.

via mobile app

Please note: Beach tags will not be available via the mobile app Viply, as Viply has ended all beach tag arrangements with municipalities as of September 2023.

There are currently no other mobile app vendors known to be selling beach tags at this time.

Veterans & Active Military

Free beach tags are offered to all veterans of the United States Military, based on an approved ordinance by the Avalon Borough Council.

A veteran is defined as any individual who has served in any of the Armed Forces of the United States and was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable.

Free beach tags are also offered by Avalon to active-duty members of the United States Armed Forces and their immediate family members.

Active-duty member refers to any individual who has served in any of the Armed Forces of the United States, and who has either served at least 90 days in active duty or been discharged or released from active duty by reason of a service-incurred injury or disability.

WHERE:

Free beach tags will be available at the Avalon Beach Tag Booth, located next to Avalon Community Hall at 30th Street and the beach.

WHAT TO BRING:

Veterans and active-duty members will simply need to show appropriate documentation to receive complimentary beach access for the 2024 season in Avalon.

Appropriate documentation includes DD-214, or any of the following:

• Cape May County Veterans card, issued by the county
• Active/ Retired/ Reserved military identification card
• American Legion card
• VFW card
• Vietnam Veterans of America card
• Disabled Veterans of America card
• Marine Corps League card

ALSO GOOD TO KNOW:

For the 2024 beach season, veterans and active military mentioned above may simply show these forms of identification to a beach tag checker in lieu of obtaining a beach tag.
